Installing the Automail Add-on

Access the listing for Automail in the Google Workspace Marketplace via this link.

Note: This add-on is unlisted, so it won’t show up when searched for.

Click the Install button, and the following pop-up will show:

Click the Continue button, and the following pop-up will show to select an account to install the add-on to:

After selecting an account, the pop-up will show permissions requested by Automail:

Clicking Allow will install Automail to the selected account, and a confirmation message pop-up will show:

Automail should now be viewable in the right sidebar of the inbox of the account selected earlier:

Logging In

Pre-requisites

  • All the steps in the previous section must be completed

  • You already have an account set up with Everest

Select an email and from the right sidebar, open the Automail add-on. The following connect page will appear in the add-on:

Click Connect to Everest to open Everest’s OAuth page to authorize your Gmail account.

If not logged in to Everest already, the following page will show to log into your Everest account:

After successfully logging in, the following screen will show and ask you to authorize usage of your Everest account with Automail:

After clicking Authorize Automail for Gmail, the page will indicate that you have authenticated your Everest account with Google successfully. Ensure that you close the tab.

Return to your Gmail inbox, and the add-on should refresh (after closing the tab earlier) and you’re now able to use Automail:

Troubleshooting

Draft reply doesn’t show under the same email after clicking the “Draft Bid” button?

Check that the following two settings have been configured, which may be preventing the draft reply from showing up under the same email:

  1. Open the quick settings for your Gmail inbox (by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner)

    1. Scroll all the way to the bottom

    2. The setting “Conversation view” should be enabled (i.e. the box should be checked)

  2. See all settings for your Gmail inbox (by clicking “See all settings” under “Quick settings”)

    1. Under General, scroll down until you see “Conversation View”

    2. For the “Conversation View” setting, “Conversation view on” should be selected
